Over the last few days, the Saints have signed some big names, but we have lost a great running back in Mark Ingram.

The Saints signed former Vikings RB Latavius Murray to a 4 year/$14.1M contract. Murray is roughly a month younger than Ingram but he has yet to excell like an elite back due to subpar offensive lines. With multiple Pro Bowlers blocking for Alvin Kamara and Murray, I expect a 70-30 split in snaps with Kamara getting the majority of them.

The Saints have also resigned QB Teddy Bridgewater to a 1 year deal worth $7.5M fully guaranteed. He can receive up to $12.5M dollars in incentives as well. The Saints were eager to sign Bridgewater after the Dolphins visited with him. Drew Brees reconstructed his contract so the Saints would have $10M more in cap space.

The front office have also interviewed Pro Bowl TE Jared Cook. The Saints want Cook to help compliment Josh Hill. Brees also reconstructed his contract to sign both Cook and Bridgewater.

R.I.P Boom & Zoom

Boom & Zoom is no more as RB Mark Ingram and the Saints couldn’t agree on compensation and Ingram has signed a 3 year contract worth $15M with the Baltimore Ravens. Ingram was a great player for the Saints and I wish him the best. Thank you Ingram!

The Saints have also signed 2 time Super Bowl winner and former Patriot, Malcolm Brown to a 3 year/$15M contract. He should be a day one starter for us as Sheldon Rankins is expected to miss a large part of the season with a torn Achilles.
