Legendary, and controversial, golfer Tiger Woods has won the 2019 Masters.
This is Tiger’s fifth win at the Master’s tournament. He defeated Xander Schauffele, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka by one stroke to secure the victory.
The shot. The win.

This was Tiger’s first major win since 2008, when he won the U.S. Open, and it completes one of the greatest comebacks sports has ever seen. Since that win, which he won on a torn ACL, Tiger’s career and life have taken many unexpected turns. Personal scandals, issues, and business aside, Tiger has had many setbacks in his golfing career consisting of three back surgeries in four years, two knee injuries, two achillies injuries, and a neck injury. Many people wrote tiger off, he was no-longer ranked in the top 1,000 players in the world at one point, some stated he’d never be a champion again, some even went as far as claiming his golf career was over.
Tiger Woods has now won fifteen majors in his career, putting him three wins away from tieing Jack Nicklaus for first all-time. Before his career “fell apart,” Woods seemed destined to break Nicklaus record, and after his future didn’t go as “planned,” everyone seemed to give up on him. This victory means everything to Tiger, he’s back on top.
Welcome back, Tiger Woods.
