The Colts picked up another free agent player in the second wave of free agency.
Nicholas is a defensive end who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs. This pickup should not surprise seasoned fans. Considering Colts General Manager Chris Ballard has very heavy connections to the Chiefs organization, this is a guy he would not be entirely unfamiliar with. Ballard was with the Chiefs from 2013 to 2016, acting as their Director of Player Personnel first from 2013-2014, and then switching roles to their Director of Football Operations from 2015-2016.
Nicholas checks in at 6-3 and weighs 251 pounds. Over the course of his career, he has played in 11 games, all with Kansas City in 2016 when he was a rookie. In those games, he had one pass defended.
In 2017, he was involved with the Seattle Seahawks. He moved along to the Washington Redskins a little later on and participated in their training camp.
This is clearly a depth signing for the Colts, as Ballard loves to boast about competition, which is another rhetoric that Colts fans should be familiar with.
