After being cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pro Bowl Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy signs a one year deal with the Carolina Panthers to stay within the NFC South.
McCoy was deciding between two teams, the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers. The Ravens offered McCoy a larger contract than the Panthers’ $8.5 Million dollar deal, yet, Cam Newton reportedly persuaded McCoy to join the Panthers.
McCoy, who turned 31 in February, is a great leader and one of the league’s best defensive tackles. McCoy has a total of 54.5 sacks in his 9 year career looks to add more in an insanely deep depth chart for the Panthers.
