Strengths

  • Good jump shooter and floor spacer — 39% three-point shooter this past season
  • Also a good scorer off the dribble, has great versatility on offense
  • Solid playmaker, good at finding open guys
  • Good scorer in the low post and around the rim — shot 58% on post-ups and 62% on non post-ups
  • Excels at moving without the ball to create looks for himself
  • Good athlete with a 7 foot wingspan that helps him overcome his height deficiencies in the post
  • Good defender and his length allows him to defend multiple positions

Weaknesses

  • Can improve on creating for himself and shooting off the dribble, things that he will need to do in order to be successful at the next level
  • Careless with the ball at times and will need to improve on the turnovers
  • Undersized as a PF but might not be quick enough to defend as a SF
  • Tore his ACL in March, and there are questions about his ability to get back to the same mobility and athleticism

Grade for Bucks: B

Okeke does a lot of good things and has great potential on offense with his versatility. He can shoot, pass, score off the dribble, and score in the post, and the Bucks could definitely use his shooting and scoring ability. He doesn’t really have a set position, which could be either a good or bad thing. He could end up being a small ball PF with his floor spacing ability and mobility, and it could work out very well for him since he has the length of a big man. He would definitely miss a good part of next season while he is recovering from his torn ACL, but that isn’t something that should keep the Bucks from drafting him. There are a few guys I’d prefer the Bucks take over him, but he would be a very good pick if the Bucks got him.
