Jimmy Butler has had interest in joining Miami ever since he demanded a trade from the Timberwolves, he has now finally landed in Miami. It took multiple tries and 4 teams but Pat Riley was able to get it done.

Miami receives: Jimmy Butler, Meyers Leonard

Philadelphia receives: Josh Richardson

Portland receives: Hassan Whiteside

LA Clippers: Maurice Harkless, future protected 1st round pick via Miami

Miami was forced to give up promising two-way wing Josh Richardson and a future first round pick to bring in All Star Jimmy Butler. Butler is known for his intense defense and ability to score. Miami was in need of a primary scorer and it seems like they found that guy in Butler. Miami may not be done as many reports believe that they have more deals lined up.

Miami does not cap space so if they wish to improve their roster they’ll have to do so by the way of trades. Miami can still sign any free agents to the minimum and possible options are DeMarcus Cousins, Jamal Crawford, TJ McConnell, and Vince Carter. Expect Pat Riley to make some more noise as they Heat aren’t done.
