The Sixers were in need of another backup PG, specifically one who can shoot the 3-ball, so this move is significant. Burke has bounced around the league in the past few seasons, playing for Utah, Washington, New York, and most recently Dallas. He finished last season averaging 10.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists while putting in 35% of his 3s in 58 games for Dallas and New York. He has also shown flashes that he can be a great scorer and ball-handler, but has yet to put together a full season.
This signing finishes off the Sixers’ roster as they are now up to 15 players and 2 two-ways, the final breakdown is below.
PG: Ben Simmons, Trey Burke, Raul Neto, Shake Milton
SG: Josh Richardson, Zhaire Smith, Matisse Thybulle
SF: Tobias Harris, James Ennis III, Furkan Korkmaz, Marial Shayok (two-way)
PF: Al Horford, Mike Scott, Jonah Bolden
C: Joel Embiid, Kyle O’Quinn, Norvel Pelle (two-way)
