Saints Talk: G Andrus Peat To Miss 6 Weeks Due To Broken Arm

The Saints will lose their Pro Bowl Guard for 6 weeks with a broken arm he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. Peat got surgery on Wednesday to repair the break.

Andrus Peat has emerged as a young star in the Saints system. He made the Pro Bowl last year as an alternate. Losing Peat won’t just affect the Guard position; Peat often plays All Pro Tackle Terron Armstead’s position.

Peat, sadly, wasn’t the only Saint to suffer an injury. The Saints may be without star Cornerback Marshon Lattimore against the Buccaneers with a hamstring injury. This would leave Eli Apple to cover Mike Evans which would be a great mismatch for the Buccaneers to utilize.

This could very well be Peat’s last season as a Saint. He is currently playing out his 5th year option and is set to be a free agent this offseason. He holds a steep cap hit at $9.625M, therefore, will ease cap space. Peat can be replaced by a draftee in this upcoming draft.
